Peter Li has been practicing law in British Columbia for over 30 years since 1991. He founded Peter Li & Company in 1993, after practicing law in Vancouver’s downtown and Chinatown districts. His philosophy was to provide a wide breadth of legal services to meet different clients’ needs. As a firm, Peter Li & Company was known for their devout dedication, attentive care, and strong work ethics. Peter trained many articled students over the years who became successful lawyers in the Chinese-Canadian community.
After more than three decades of providing legal services, Peter decided to redirect his time and effort to more focused areas of service. In the twilight of his accomplished career, Peter is now a senior associate counsel to mentor junior lawyers and to keep in touch with his clients.
Ever grateful for the opportunities, Peter’s legacy is his deep involvement with the Greater Vancouver Chinese community, including but not limited to answering legal questions and explaining various legal issues on Fairchild Radio AM 1470 for 28 years, contributing to publicly accessible webcasts on a series of legal topics for public education, guest speaking on different legal topics on various Fairchild TV programs, and writing legal articles for newspapers, magazines and other community publications. He also acted as a supervising lawyer for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (University of British Columbia) legal clinics and serves as a legal advisor for various organizations, including the CCM Legal Clinic.
Peter is very thankful to all his clients’ trust and support over the years. He repays the community with complimentary legal seminars, support to charitable causes and organizations, and community outreaches.
